Papua New Guinea - Nation Building through Education
NATION BUILDING Together
Papua New Guinea 2010
Adelaide Christian Schools
Sunrise Christian School, Temple Christian College and Sunrise Christian School, Whyalla are part of a community of Schools under the governance of Adelaide Christian Schools Inc.
Our Schools have a reputation and tradition for providing excellence in Christian education. As a group our 10 schools have about 2000 students and 200 staff. Each school offers its own distinctive qualities in providing a Christian environment that focuses on the role of the family in education, character development and excellence in academics.
Adelaide Christian Schools continues to evolve and respond to the rapidly changing world. Our Strategic Plan 2010-2015 presents an opportunity to build on the strengths of our rich heritage and set our vision for the future. It has established a set of key goals and initiatives for the next five years aimed to guide the development of the school in teaching and learning, financial resources and environment, governance and policy, and our people.
Papua New Guinea 2010
Sunrise Bethel Christian School opened in February 2010 in Port Moresby. This will be the foundation, a demonstration site and teacher learning facility that will see a rapid expansion of quality schools across PNG and the Pacific region.
Missions are a strong focus for our school community. Our students learn about mission and meeting the needs of others. Students have opportunities to visit countries such as Cambodia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea along with remote communities in Australia. An understanding of Mission is not only what we teach, it is culturally imbedded in our communities. This has been the principle behind starting schools in other countries.
Local partnership is everything, it gives us the strength and confidence to move forward with our vision. We have more than 900 Church partnerships throughout the Pacific region.
As part of this journey we are seeking partners who share a vision for Papua New Guinea and share a belief that through education, nations can be built, nations can be changed. If you are interested in partnering with us in this vision then please download the business plan which will provide you with an overview of the vision. We hope that this provides a framework for further partnerships in development of schools across the nations.
Please take a look at our website http://www.acsnationbuilding.com/ for updates on the project or if you wish to speak with someone at your local campus, your PNG Coordinator is Jacqui Munro.
