According to the Constitution, the School Council operates under the delegated authority of Adelaide Christian Schools Board of Governors.
Governance and Management work together in partnership to lead Adelaide Christian Schools. This partnership is effective through clear communication between the two, and with each having well defined and distinct responsibilities and reporting expectations.
The Constitution, Vision, Values and Strategic Direction are the responsibility of Governance, embodied in the constitution, and protected by it.
Through the Constitution, systems of accountability are established to monitor the health and progress of the Adelaide Christian Schools. This is done by the School Council and subcommittees under the delegated authority e.g. the Finance Committee would be one such group.
The School Council is responsible to develop and recommend the strategic plans and the budget in partnership with Management.
Appointments to the Board and School Council are chosen from people who clearly demonstrate a heart for and practical commitment to the values and ethos of the ACC, the Constitution and the moral owners. Competence and diligent exercise in the role of governance is monitored during the appointments.
