Dress Code & Uniform

Sunrise Christian School Dress Code specifies the wearing of correct school uniform by boys and girls for all school activities unless written exemption is granted by the class teacher or Principal.

It is expected that this uniform will be worn in such a manner that the aim of glorifying God will be seen.  Therefore it should be well maintained and clean.

The Dress Code of Sunrise Christian School has been established to help parents and students to know what is expected.  It is not meant to stifle individuality but rather remove some of the distractions that prevent students from achieving their best academically, socially and spiritually.

The use of school uniforms at Sunrise Christian School is based on the Biblical principle of Unity in Diversity. God’s creation universally and consistently reflects this principle. For example, each leaf on a tree from a distance looks the same and indeed conformed to the same pattern, however, after taking a close look, each leaf is uniquely different. Even though each leaf is distinguishably different, they belong to the same tree.

This same principle applies to all animals, plants and indeed all living organisms.

By using this Biblical principle as a framework for the use of uniforms, we imply unity in the concept of being part of the school while acknowledging each child being an individual in their own right.

THE WEARING OF CORRECT SCHOOL UNIFORM IS COMPULSORY

If it is impossible for your child to be dressed in correct uniform for a short period of time, then dress them as closely as possible to the full uniform requirements, following the same colour scheme, and wearing as much of the uniform as they can.  If this should eventuate, a written note in the child’s diary should be sent to the school explaining the reason for incomplete uniform.
